Hike description
The Wild West. Hiking in Gran Canaria to the realm of mangoes and avocado farmers. One of the most beautiful hikes in Gran Canaria.
Our hike starts in the small village of Veneguera, where we can also see the largest Cardón on the island.
Afterwards, we walk along a valley full of mango and avocado plantations, also known as the green gold of the island. On the hike we will see some abandoned farmhouses and imposing rock formations, but one of the highlights is of course the colorful wall of the Azulejos, which belongs to the natural reserve of Inagua.
After our small picnic, we continue to hike to the other side of the valley, where we can enjoy a variety of flowers and views to the sea. A hike with a unique insight into the west side of Gran Canaria.
Finally, we return hiking to the tiny village of Veneguera, where we can also enjoy the fresh mangoes and papayas in a juice.
Although it is only 5 km, but with a good 350 m ascent and descent, a hike that has it all. Good footwear is a must; and for that we always have professional hiking boots for rent.
